CPD Events 2022

ALS House and Macmillan Education

ALS House Athens, Thessaloniki & Birmingham are delighted to announce that

the first CPD workshops for the year 2022 will take place on January 22nd.

It is a free of charge event and we would welcome all EFL teachers to attend it.

Cetificates of attendance will be sent to all attendees within one week after the event.

Programme (Athens, Greece time zone):

11.15am-12.15pm The roles of the teacher and the learner in the eclectic approach by Pola Papadopoulou on behalf of ALS House

12.30-1.30pm Reading for the sake of reading: 10 principles for implementing a successful extensive reading module by Greg Kavvadias on behalf of Macmillan Education.

Pola has been an English language specialist for 8 years. Originally from Greece, she understands the struggles of non-native speakers when learning English as she herself has been one. Pola has a BA in English Language and Literature and a Master’s in International and Comparative Education with a focus on English language teaching and leadership in non-governmental institutions. She also holds an Advanced Diploma in TESOL and is a Cambridge certified Trainer for CELT-P and CELT-S. 


Pola has taught in-person and online, in summer schools and business settings, privately and in groups. Finding her niche is still a work in progress but being passionate about teaching and helping others never wavers. She has been preparing students for the IELTS for 3 years now and she is always on the lookout for new practices and approaches to help both teachers and students. 


Pola currently works as an Education Program Coordinator at Spotify and as a freelance English language teacher online
